Mr Suresh Marpuri M.S, FRCS (Ophth),M.R.C.Ophth, FRCOphth is a consultant eye surgeon at Mid and South Essex Hospital. He specialises in complex cataract & premium lens replacement surgery, glaucoma surgery, 'Ocular surface disorders' and 'lasers'.
Deeply inspired by Mother Teresa's philosophy of compassion and service, Mr. Marpuri entered the field of medicine with the belief that “serving humanity is serving God.” This principle has guided his approach throughout his career—combining surgical excellence with humility and dedication to patient welfare.

With thousands of successful surgeries to his credit, Mr Marpuri is known for his meticulous technique, clinical precision, and ability to manage complex and challenging cases. After completing his Master of Ophthalmology (MS), he continued to build his skills with a two-year fellowship in cataract and anterior segment surgery at Aravind Eye Hospital, one of the world's most respected centres for cataract care.
He then travelled to the United Kingdom for further specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Southend University Hospital. During this time, he gained extensive experience in treating glaucoma, performing complex cataract surgeries, and caring for patients with ocular surface diseases.
He also trained in the latest Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS), a modern approach that helps lower eye pressure with quicker recovery and less discomfort. These include:
